About Wendy Benefer
I’m a guitar teacher with over 25 years of experience who is passionate about finding the right approach to learning to play for each of my students.
My passion for teaching comes from being taught in ways that didn’t work for me, and others not being able to adapt their teaching style to accommodate my needs.
I am able to share some of the strategies I have developed over the years that work better for me, to help neurodivergent musicians who may have struggled with traditional teaching methods and materials not suiting their learning style.
I teach guitar lessons at teaching bases and in your own home (limited availability) in the Fakenham and Dereham areas.
I have a teaching qualification, a DBS check, public liability insurance and am a member of the Musicians Union

I don’t just teach music
As well as loving teaching music I enjoy playing guitar with others, and have done so for over 30 years. I play a large variety of styles of music, including Pop, Folk, Jazz, Blues, Indie, Reggae and Country. I currently play in a duo and I am in Whirligig the local ceilidh band.
I enjoy playing a wide range of instruments including drums, keyboard, bass, ukulele, mandolin, as well as singing and song writing.
Continued professional development
I have a particular interest and specialise in working 1-to-1 with Autistic, ADHD and dyslexic students. To support my professional development I’ve completed different courses in this area.
Understanding Autism- The Open University
Dyslexia Awareness Training – Microsoft
The Inside of Autism training with Kieran Rose – The Autistic Advocate
Sensory Trauma – Autism Wellbeing

Thank you so much for yesterday! Paul said you managed to change how Joshy was feeling through the lesson. We so appreciate your kindness and gentleness with him.
